§ Rolando Gonzalez was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Actually, his first fours years of his life were spent mostly in Matamoros, Mexico. He comes from a large family of three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Gonzalez's primary language is Spanish and when his parents sent him to school in Brownsville, his greatest challenge was learning the English language.

Mr. Gonzalez is the only college graduate in the history of his entire family. He graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville with a B.A. in English and is currently working on a Masters degree in Educational Administration. Mr. Gonzalez has taught reading, language arts, and English in Brownsville, Austin, and Houston. He has also sponsored the National Junior Honor Society and cheerleaders while serving as a teacher.

In his free time, Mr. Gonzalez enjoys traveling, reading, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
