- Laura Harlow - e-mail

Ms. Harlow, a native Houstonian, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University. Before coming to HSPVA in 1997, Ms. Harlow taught math at Friendswood Junior High. She is a member of the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and regularly attends math workshops and training. She enjoys working collaboratively with other teachers to develop new activities that make math fun. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and her son Zale.

Ms. Meyer, certified in secondary math and physical science, earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Moving to Houston several years ago, she began her teaching career as a middle school science teacher. Rice University School Mathematics Project (RUSMP) introduced her to the idea of math certification. She has taught high school mathematics since 1999 and pursues lifelong learning, including continued active involvement with RUSMP.

Mr. Rambow is a native Houstonian who graduated from HSPVA as a piano major. From here, he went to Rice University, where he earned dual bachelor's degrees in physics and mathematics. He spent five years in China teaching English, physics, and math before returning to Texas to complete his teacher certification in physics and math. Mr. Rambow enjoys playing the piano and writing fiction, and he has occasionally been known to engage in recreational math and physics activities.

Mr. Robertson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas in 1980. He worked for 15 years designing and implementing process control software for the petrochemical and oil refining industries. He began pursuing a long-held dream of being a teacher by earning a Master of Secondary Education degree at the University of St. Thomas in 2000, and has taught in Houston since 1996 in both public and private high schools. He is certified and has experience teaching Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Chemistry.

Ms. Tseng teaches Algebra 1, Geometry, and PreAP Geometry. She received a Bachelor's degree in Entomology from the National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, and a Master's degree in Statistics from the University of Georgia at Athens. She holds teaching certifications in secondary mathematics and ESL. She has been a math teacher since 1992, and taught at Hamilton Middle School and Hastings High School. She has been teaching at HSPVA since 2000 and enjoys teaching at HSPVA. Her additional work experience includes her previous jobs of medical research assistant, teaching assistant, and being the mother of two daughters.
